Practice Principal Brin qualified from Glasgow with honours in 1984. She first worked in the medicine department at Glasgow Veterinary School before moving into a private practice. In 1996, along with her husband Ewan, she became joint principal of Castle Veterinary Centre. Brin enjoys working with cardiology and internal medicine cases and is responsible for nurse training within the practice. In 2001 she was awarded the British Small Animal Veterinary Associations' Frank Beattie Travel Scholarship and spent time at the New York Animal Medical Centre working alongside their counseling team. She also lectures on grief support and its benefits at various veterinary seminars around the country. Away from the practice, her twin daughters Cara and Iona, born in 1999, keep her busy.
