The operating theatre

back to Facilities

The operating theatre is designed to be aseptic, and is supplied with piped gases for anaesthetics and a sterile "two-way" cupboard (shown on the far right of the photograph) to allow autoclaved instruments to be passed into the room without people having to enter the theatre. Only sterile operations, such as spaying, orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures are done here.
